Program Description/Service Offered:    

The Montrose County School District RE-1J Early Childhood Centers is an integrated program funded by Head Start, Colorado Preschool and Kindergarten Program, the school district's Special Needs program and school district employee tuition.  There are three sites, one in Olathe (w/ three classes), one in central Montrose (w/ four classes), and one south of Montrose (w/10 classes).  There are eight classrooms that serve 15 children in half-day sessions and on e classroom that serves 15 children in a full day, full year program option.

All children of the Montrose County School District RE-1J Early Childhood Centers, regardless of funding source, receive classroom instruction utilizing he “DLM Early Childhood Express” and the “Growing with Mathematics” curriculums.  The staff is dedicated to providing developmentally appropriate activities for preschool children.  Parents are included in all aspects of the program and its operation.  The major components of the preschool program are:  Education, Disabilities, Health (medical, dental, nutrition and mental health), Parent Involvement, Family Services, Community Partnerships and Program Design and Management.
